C.H.E.K Practitioners are specialists in Corrective High-performance Exercise Kinesiology, developed by Paul Chek. We bridge the gap between a Personal Trainer and a Physiotherapist or Osteopath who looks at the entire human being as a holistic entity.

The CHEK program boasts the most comprehensive evaluation system in the world of fitness and well-being.

Our assessments cover posture, the relationship between muscle length and tension, movement screening, biomechanics, derma tones, reflexes related to the visceral system, nutritional and lifestyle assessments, hormonal, emotional, and spiritual factors, as well as evaluations of spinal pathologies and upper cervical irregularities. Importantly, we conduct these assessments proactively, before the occurrence of any injuries.

In case of an injury or chronic pain, a CHEK Practitioner is taught how to recognize the signs and symptoms of disorders that may impede successful rehabilitation, and then to network with appropriate professionals to achieve the desired outcome. The practitioner is not expected to help everyone or claims to help everyone. They will refer out to another health care practitioner when needed such as a Chiropractor, Osteopath, Physiotherapist, Doctor and people with specific skill sets.

“The main thing that everybody does is treat the symptom as is and where it is. Most pain and injuries in athletes are chronic and repetitive. If the body is out of balance, its like having a car with the front end out of alignment. If you don’t know enough about cars to recognize the front end is out of alignment, then you will notice the front tires are wearing out. Most people just get new tires without addressing the misalignment, and this leads to a lot of wasted time and money buying new tires,” Paul Chek.

  1. First and foremost we will set up a discovery call where we will discuss your expectations and your unique challenges and plans. We both have to make sure we are a good fit to ensure success and optimal use of time and energy.

  2. Once onboard, you will undergo a series of written questionnaires and physical assessments. These include:

    • Comprehensive Lifestyle Questionnaire

    • Primal Pattern Diet Questionaire

    • Functional Breathing Test (BOLT and MBT)

    • Functional Movement Screen (Range of Motion and Muscle Imbalance Test)

    • DEXA scan for bone density, muscle mass and visceral fat

    • A comprehensive blood test (with a doctor's interpretation)

    • Food allergies and intolerances test

    • Heavy metals test

      It is highly recommended to eventually do additional blood tests for HbA1c, ApoB, Lp(a) (if available), CT angiogram, APOE e4, colonoscopy, DWI MRI, motor exam for pre-Parkinson’s and others. All this will give as a good understanding of your current health as a baseline.

  3. Next, we will define your One Love. What do you love enough that you are willing to make a change for? Who do you want to become? What is your main motivation? Who else is involved? If unable to define you can ask yourself what is your nightmare scenario and reverse-engineer from there. Throughout the program, we will have this dream and everyone involved in it in mind as our guiding compass.

  4. You will receive your custom-made movement program. If desired, it can be integrated with an existing one to supplement what’s missing. Too often people focus on working out and don’t spend any time working in! We will make sure we complement your Yang (energy expending) activities with Yin (energy harnessing) ones.

  5. We will focus on the six foundation principles and constantly work to balance them out.

6. We will then learn about The Last Four Doctors You’ll Ever Need and how to make them all happy.

Dr. Happiness is our chief physician. Understanding what truly makes you happy is a crucial aspect of leading a fulfilling and healthy life. If you are unaware of what brings you happiness and if your life doesn't align with your core values or provide fulfilment, it can lead to stress and a sense of burden.

In essence, Dr. Happiness serves as a guiding philosophy or concept, emphasizing the importance of self-awareness, introspection, and aligning one's life choices with their authentic sources of happiness. By correctly identifying and pursuing what genuinely makes you happy, you can achieve a state of lasting health and well-being. Dr. Happiness encourages you to engage in deep self-reflection and intention-setting to discover and incorporate these sources of happiness into your lives.

Dr. Diet plays a vital role in overall well-being by influencing your energy levels and your biochemical and emotional states through food and drink choices. Dr. Diet offers guidance to help you make the right nutritional choices for your specific body and needs, highlighting the profound impact of nutrition on your physical, emotional, and mental health.

Dr Movement serves a vital purpose beyond weight management and heart health. It is essential for nutrient circulation, waste elimination, and promoting emotional stability and mental clarity. Many people in the Western world often try to compensate for poor diet and lifestyle choices by exercising excessively when, in reality, being overweight can be a sign of stress and imbalance. Prioritizing movement that builds energy, such as Yoga, Tai chi, and Qigong, helps balance hormones, promotes rest and repair, and enhances overall functioning. Through Dr. Movement, we want to make sure to have a good understanding of working out versus working in. This will give us a great perspective on the 2 Forces so that we can balance our energy out with bringing more energy in.

And finally, Dr. Quiet is responsible for managing energy and facilitating recovery. Prolonged stress can disrupt sleep patterns, and Dr. Quiet offers guidance for achieving better sleep quality. Additionally, Dr. Quiet supports relaxation and self-care, helping individuals maintain calmness, focus, and energy throughout the day. This inner quietness also fosters the ability to connect with intuition, aiding in decision-making that aligns with personal values.

7. Based on the questionnaires, dietary preferences and intolerances/allergies we will discuss nutrition, how to think about food and plan meals without being on a ‘diet’ and without counting calories or obsessing over micro-nutrients. 80% of your success in this program depends on getting good sleep consistently and feeding your body with the nutrients it needs. You will learn to listen to your body’s signals and become completely in tune with it.

We will decipher nutritional labels and learn how to recognise real food in the world of food look-alikes. Don’t worry, there will always be room for indulgence if you follow the plan.

8. Breathing and movement also play a big role in the longevity game. We will learn correct breathing and movement patterns, identify your imbalances and weaknesses and build an appropriate program to build muscle and cardiovascular health. All while engaging in daily stretching of the muscles that need stretching.

Learning to engage your core properly will keep your spine safe and body active for the rest of your life.

You will learn to work in to harness the energy and bring equilibrium to your tired body from working out and other daily activities.

You will learn about six zone exercises to nourish the six chakras.

9. Last but not least, meditation and journaling will become important practices and quite possibly game changers if you don’t practice them already. A more peaceful and focused mind will slowly arise.
